Yang Ming Marine Transport Corp has announced that its 15,500-TEU LNG dual-fuel container ship, YM Willpower, has completed its first LNG bunkering operation using simultaneous operations (SIMOPS) at the Port of Shanghai.

The vessel is said to have received around 2,000 tonnes of LNG while active cargo handling operations were under way — a procedure designed to reduce the time a vessel spends in port by running bunkering and loading concurrently.

According to Yang Ming, the operation was carried out in close collaboration with Shanghai International Port (Group) and SIPG Energy Shanghai, with the approach enhancing operational efficiency during the port call.
