Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) has held a naming ceremony for its newbuilding very large crude carrier (VLCC) Tsurugidake at Dalian Cosco KHI Ship Engineering Co., Ltd. in China, marking delivery of the MOL Group’s fourth LNG dual-fuel VLCC.
The vessel has been delivered to Equinor ASA under a time charter contract, making it the third LNG dual-fuel VLCC that MOL has delivered to the Norwegian energy company, following two vessels previously handed over to the firm.
According to MOL, Tsurugidake is equipped with an LNG fuel tank with a capacity exceeding 10,000 cbm, which the company notes enables long-distance voyages and greater operational flexibility.
