Pacific International Lines (PIL), the Singapore-headquartered container shipping company ranked among the world's top container lines, is recruiting a Senior Executive for its Marine Fuels Operations and Fulfilment team, according to an online job posting.

The role is described as requiring around-the-world, round-the-clock oversight of fuel procurement and delivery operations, covering PIL's fleet of 100 container and multi-purpose vessels across more than 90 countries.

According to PIL, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing approximately 4,000 technical service orders per year, encompassing bunker procurement through competitive tender processes, physical delivery operations, fuel quality testing, and waste and sludge disposal management. The position also carries responsibility for freshwater resupply and laboratory testing of water samples.

The role will involve developing operational procedures for LNG bunkering, pointing to PIL's broader ambitions around future marine fuels as the company works towards its stated goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2050.

Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting requests for quotation via an e-bidding platform, reviewing International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 8217 fuel quality test results and gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS) laboratory reports, and carrying out unannounced inspections of physical bunkering operations on selected vessels to verify compliance and the integrity of quantities supplied.

Candidates are expected to hold either a diploma in supply chain or marine engineering with a minimum of five years of maritime experience, or a marine engineering certificate of competency at Class 5 or above combined with shipboard bunkering experience. Proficiency in Excel modelling and data analysis is listed as a requirement, with skills in Power Automate and data analytics described as an advantage.
