IBT Bunkering & Trading has appointed Kevin Döhmen as Executive Vice President of its recently launched office in Singapore.
In an online post, the Hamburg-based bunker trading firm explained that Döhmen would be responsible for managing and developing IBT’s new operation in the Asian city-state.
"Kevin will ensure that our customers and partners receive the same personal, reliable and responsive service that has defined IBT since 1976," IBT said.
"The opening of our Singapore office is an important first step in strengthening our presence in Asia. At the same time, we are actively exploring further opportunities to expand our activities and establish new partnerships in this key maritime hub," the company added.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Döhmen joined IBT Bunkering & Trading's Hamburg office as a bunker trader in 2024. Prior to that, he spent just over a year as bunker trader at KPI OceanConnect, also in the German port city.
As previously reported, IBT Bunkering & Trading announced the launch its new operation in Singapore at the end of July. The German firm, which has been trading marine fuel out of Hamburg for 50 years, explained that the Singapore desk would complement its existing European operations, enabling it to provide "two strategic desks across two continents, one global network, covering west and east around the clock".
"This isn't a flag on a map. It's a deliberate move to trade where the fuel flows: two strategic desks across two continents," the company stated last month.
