Angelicoussis Group, the Greek ship management organisation, is recruiting for a senior marine fuels desk lead to be based in Athens, according to a job listing published on LinkedIn.

The role, which sits within the group's marine fuels function, calls for a candidate with more than 15 years of relevant working experience, including at least five years in managerial positions. Applicants are expected to hold a bachelor's degree in economics, maritime studies or a related field.

The position carries responsibility for a broad range of activities spanning strategic fuel procurement, price optimisation and operational oversight. The successful candidate will be expected to implement fuel contracting strategies — with a particular emphasis on Singapore — while maintaining relationships with both major and independent fuel suppliers.

The role also involves supporting the group's dual-fuel purchasing strategy in line with broader corporate objectives, managing volume and price exposure across key bunkering ports, and originating hedging opportunities and price risk management strategies.

On the operational side, the desk lead will be required to conduct due diligence on fuel supply counterparties, covering quality, integrity, service levels and creditworthiness. Responsibilities also include overseeing scheduling and delivery operations for both contracted and spot-purchased fuel in Singapore and other locations, as well as approving bunker invoices and supporting claims resolution.

The new hire will be expected to interact closely with internal stakeholders across commercial, technical, operations and group functions, and will also assist in the training of master mariners.

Angelicoussis Group says it offers "an attractive compensation and benefits package and a friendly working environment".
