Sunoco LP, a master limited partnership operating energy infrastructure and fuel distribution across 32 countries and territories, is advertising for a bunker trader.

The role, which is listed under the company's office in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, and carries a travel requirement of between 50% and 75% of the time, is described as a "front-line commercial trading role responsible for driving profitability and expanding Sunoco LP's bunker business".

According to the job listing, the successful candidate will own the full trade lifecycle — from customer engagement through to execution — while contributing to commercial strategy and supporting growth initiatives. Day-to-day responsibilities will include executing bunker transactions end-to-end, managing daily market pricing, conducting commercial negotiations, and monitoring trade exposures including credit limits, prepayments, and margin risk.

Candidates are required to hold a bachelor's degree in finance, business, engineering, maritime studies, or a related discipline, along with a minimum of two years' experience in bunker trading or the marine fuels commercial sector. The listing also calls for familiarity with marine fuel specifications, working knowledge of port operations and logistical constraints, and experience using maritime intelligence tools.

Experience working with market index pricing and floating-to-fixed price mechanisms is also listed among the requirements, alongside advanced Excel and analytical capabilities.

The position involves working closely with commercial, operations, credit, and finance teams, and includes responsibility for expanding customer wallet share and improving retention across assigned accounts.
