New Times Shipbuilding has delivered three LNG dual-fuel oil tankers to their respective owners over a four-day period between 7 July and 10 July, according to the Chinese shipbuilder.
The first vessel to be handed over was the 299,500-deadweight-tonne (dwt) LNG dual-fuel very large crude carrier (VLCC) Mount Vision, delivered on 7 July and accepted by owner Bruton Ltd.
Two 155,500-dwt LNG dual-fuel crude tankers followed in quick succession. The first, hull No. 0315812, was delivered on 8 July and accepted by owner Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS). The second, hull No. 0315844, was delivered on 10 July and accepted by Maran Tankers Management.
New Times Shipbuilding said the three deliveries “fully demonstrate our robust technical capability and leadership in green shipbuilding.”
The cluster of deliveries comes as shipyards across Asia continue to see strong demand for dual-fuel newbuilds, with LNG-fuelled tonnage increasingly favoured by tanker owners seeking to meet tightening international emissions regulations.
New Times Shipbuilding is based in Jingjiang, Jiangsu province, China.
