Vitol Bunkers has launched commercial bunkering services at Gwadar Port, Pakistan, marking the first time such services have been made available at the port.

From 14 July, commercial vessels calling at Gwadar Port can bunker high-sulphur fuel oil (HSFO), very-low-sulphur fuel oil (VLSFO) and low-sulphur marine gas oil (LSMGO) through the company.

The launch follows what Vitol Bunkers says was the first commercial bunkering operation at the port, in which the LNG carrier Enugu was supplied with 2,500 tonnes of VLSFO by Vitol Bunkers’ barge Marine Ista.

Ammar Hussaini, global strategic business manager at Vitol Bunkers, remarked: “We are pleased to be able to supply our customers with a range of high-quality fuels from important locations in Pakistan. Gwadar Port is a deepwater port which has benefited from significant investment, and we look forward to building our offering in this location and serving customers across the region.”
