MOL Techno-Trade, Ltd. has completed an LNG bunkering operation for Luminara, a cruise ship operated by The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection.

The refuelling took place on 16 May at Wakamatsu Pier in the Port of Hakodate, Hokkaido.

MOL Techno-Trade, a subsidiary of Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL), carried out the delivery with Hokkaido Gas Co., Ltd. The fuel transfer used the truck-to-ship method and marked the first LNG supply to an international cruise ship in Hokkaido.

The Hakodate delivery adds to MOL Techno-Trade’s previous LNG bunkering work at Japanese ports, including Nagasaki, Beppu and Hakata.

MOL stated that the latest operation further strengthens MOL Techno-Trade’s presence in LNG marine fuel supply.

The group also noted that it plans to expand its LNG bunkering activity while contributing to cleaner marine fuel options and maritime decarbonisation.
