Acta Marine has taken delivery of Acta Gemini, a walk-to-work (W2W) DP2 construction service operation vessel (CSOV) built at Tersan Shipyard in Yalova, Turkey. The vessel is the third in a series of four newbuilds ordered by the Dutch offshore marine services company.
Following mobilisation, Acta Gemini is set to commence a long-term charter in support of the Sofia Offshore Wind Farm at Dogger Bank, UK, operating out of Grimsby. The vessel will provide offshore accommodation and walk-to-work services to support operations and maintenance activities on behalf of energy company RWE.
The vessel can accommodate up to 88 personnel and is equipped with an advanced offshore access system, a helideck and daughter craft, enabling transfer of technicians to offshore installations. It is fitted with methanol dual-fuel main engines and said to be methanol-ready, in line with what Acta Marine characterises as its pathway towards lower-emission operations.
Rob Boer, CEO of Acta Marine, commented: "The delivery of Acta Gemini, combined with a long-term charter commitment from RWE, underlines both the strength of our fleet and the confidence of our clients in our organisation and services. With this vessel, we continue to build on the foundation laid with Acta Pegasus and Acta Hercules and further strengthen our position in the offshore wind market."
With sister vessels Acta Pegasus and Acta Hercules already delivered, the fourth vessel in the series — Acta Aquarius — is scheduled for delivery later in 2026.
