Navios Partners takes delivery of LNG- and methanol-ready boxship


The 7,900-teu Navios Cyan is the first of four newbuildings in the series.

Navios Maritime Partners L.P. (Navios Partners) has confirmed that it has taken delivery of the first in a series of 7,900-teu container ships capable of running on LNG and methanol.

The vessel, named Navios Cyan, is the first of four newbuildings in the series and is fitted with a scrubber and alternative maritime power capability.

The shipping firm noted that the vessel is equipped with “the latest state-of-the-art equipment”, whilst adding that it is committed to reducing emissions and building environmentally friendly vessels.

As previously reported, Navios Partners recently took delivery of the LNG- and methanol-ready Aframax/LR2 product tankers Nave Equator and Nave Amaryllis. Both vessels are also equipped for alternative maritime power.
