Osprey Energy Marine has opened a vacancy for a junior bunker trader based in Dordrecht, with the role focused on expanding the company’s commercial activity in the Philippine market.
The position forms part of the company’s new junior bunker trading programme and is aimed at candidates with demonstrable market knowledge, experience or networks in the Cebu region.
According to the company, the successful applicant will help build Osprey Energy Marine’s commercial presence in that market while working from its office in the Netherlands.
Fluency in Filipino is required for client-facing work in the Philippine market, while familiarity with Dutch culture or the Dutch work environment is preferred to facilitate interaction between the two markets.
The role is aimed at candidates with up to three years of relevant professional experience. Sales experience, including in call centres, outbound sales or account management, is considered an advantage.
Osprey said the junior trading programme is intended for early-career professionals and will provide training in shipping operations, bunkering, marine fuel products, trading and legal frameworks, with guidance from a mentor.
After the training period, responsibilities will include conducting bunker trading activities, building a customer portfolio and sourcing channels, monitoring market developments, expanding the client base through cold calling, and maintaining relationships with customers, suppliers, and partners.
The company also said it is active in the development and marketing of renewable fuel solutions and is looking for someone who can support that work in the Philippine market.
Applicants are expected to have strong local knowledge and networks in the Cebu City area, the ability to build business relationships in the Philippine market, and a willingness to travel internationally when needed. A relevant maritime qualification is considered a plus.
Osprey Energy describes itself as an all-round energy provider producing, blending and supplying various grades of gasoil and renewable fuels for land- and sea-based applications.
The company said the package includes a salary in line with the Dutch statutory minimum wage, performance-based growth opportunities, and 25 days of annual leave for full-time employment.
