Oilmar DMCC has announced the appointment of Oğuz Yazici as Country Manager for Turkey.

Yazici joined the Dubai-based bunker and cargo trading house as a bunker trader in 2023 and has more than 15 years of experience in the shipping industry, including six years spent working for Turkish bunker suppliers CYE Petrol and Unerco Petrol.

The firm says it plans to expand its trading team in Turkey by adding senior, mid-level and junior traders to support the development of its regional operations.

Yazici commented: "I am proud to take on this role at such an exciting time for both the business and the wider regional market. Turkey occupies a uniquely strategic position at the crossroads of major global shipping routes, and its bunkering sector continues to demonstrate strong resilience and growth potential."

Yusif Mammadov, Oilmar's owner, remarked: "We are delighted to appoint Oğuz as Country Manager. Under Oğuz's leadership, we aim to further strengthen our presence in the Turkish market and expand trading activities across this important region."

The appointment follows the recent promotion of Shiwei Liao to Head of Asia at Oilmar. The company said the move reflects its focus on developing leadership from within as it expands across global markets.

Oilmar DMCC was founded in 2015 and is headquartered in Dubai with offices also in Greece, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland, and Turkey.
