Maritime Technologies Forum to host webinar on methanol dual-fuel ship inspection guidelines

Maritime Technologies Forum (MTF) will host a webinar on 5 February 2026 at 9am CEST to present key findings from its report 'Guidelines for Safe Inspection of Methanol Dual-fuel Ships.'

According to MTF, the webinar will feature presentations from forum members involved in developing the guidance, with the lead author outlining the study's observations and conclusions. The report is available for download from the MTF website.

MTF is a collaborative forum comprising flag state administrations and classification societies, established to provide technical and regulatory input to the maritime industry. Its work focuses on research and guidance related to alternative fuels, increased automation and the safe introduction of new technologies.

Flag state members include Japan's Maritime Bureau under the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, the Norwegian Maritime Authority, the UK’s Maritime and Coastguard Agency, and the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore.

Classification society members of the forum include American Bureau of Shipping, DNV, Lloyd’s Register and ClassNK.

MTF said the webinar is intended to support regulators, operators and technical stakeholders involved in the inspection and operation of methanol dual-fuel vessels.
