Everllence reported on December 2 that there is a strong early demand for its newly launched 35/44DF CD GenSet, confirming 138 orders since the engine completed its Type Approval Test (TAT) in April 2025.

The company said the orders, placed over roughly seven months, include interest from several major shipping companies. The first unit is expected to be delivered in May 2026.

The TAT was conducted at STX’s headquarters in Changwon, South Korea, and covered both versions of the four-stroke design: the methane-capable 35/44DF CD and the methanol-ready 35/44CD. Everllence highlighted that the successful test marked a key step in bringing the new generation of engines to market.

Sephardim Koblenz, Vice President and Head of Licensing, Four-Stroke Marine & License at Everllence, said: "These 138 orders have been won in just seven months or so since the engine's TAT. We feel that its success reflects our commitment to providing innovative and sustainable maritime solutions. With the 35/44DF CD design philosophy and our close collaboration with STX Engine in the development of this engine design, we feel that we have hit the sweet spot between competitiveness and environmental sustainability."

According to Everllence, the engine features low emissions and a "future-proof design." The manufacturer claims the design prepares the engine for use with biofuels, LNG, synthetic LNG, and future fuels, including methanol.

Manuel Zaharias, Promotion Manager, Four-Stroke License-Built Engines at Everllence, said: "The 35/44DF CD was designed to meet all future GenSet demands, a process greatly shaped by customer feedback and market requirements. These were implemented directly and tested in collaboration with STX Engine. With this approach, we are confident that we have provided a solution that will fulfil customer demands for sustainable and reliable power production on board a variety of vessels."

Everllence, formerly known as MAN Energy Solutions, is headquartered in Augsburg, Germany, and provides propulsion, decarbonisation and efficiency solutions for shipping, the energy economy and industry.
