Chimbusco Pan Nation (CPN) has delivered what it says is the first B30 marine gasoil (B30-MGO) supply in Hong Kong, marking the initial delivery of the 30% biodiesel and 70% marine gasoil blend to Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) in the region.

The operation, completed on July 11, represents OOCL's first receipt of this fuel blend in Hong Kong, according to CPN, which included a simultaneous delivery of B30 high-sulphur marine fuel oil (HSFO) alongside the B30-MGO.

"This dual-grade delivery underscores CPN’s technical expertise and ability to meet complex bunkering demands, reinforcing its position as a leader in the industry," the company said.

CPN stated that it is the first bunker supplier in the region capable of providing all grades of ISCC-EU certified marine biofuel, including marine fuel and gasoil.

B30 marine fuel blends contain 30% biofuel content, offering an alternative to conventional marine fuels as the shipping industry seeks to reduce its carbon footprint.

The ISCC-EU certification ensures adherence to the EU Renewable Energy Directive (RED III), which sets mandatory sustainability and greenhouse gas reduction criteria for biofuels across the European Union.
