New barge supplier in Ventspils

Barge deliveries set to commence at the start of September.

Bunker and lubricants supplier NT Marine has announced that it will be in a position to begin carrying out bunker deliveries by barge at the port of Ventspils from 1st September.

The Tallinn-based firm said that its fully owned bunker barge Grumant had already arrived at Ventspils and the company was currently in the process of submitting the relevant documentation in order to be able to start supplying marine fuel from the start of next month.

The 3659 deadweight tonne (dwt) Grumant, formerly named Ristna, has a total storage capacity of 2,500 metric tonnes and is able to deliver all major fuel grades. The vessel was built in 1980 and has a blender on board.

NT Marine was founded in 1999 through the merger of Estonia's two largest independent bunkering companies NT Bunkering and Marine Bunker. In Estonia, the company has its own dedicated terminal with in-line blenders to enable the supply of a full range of products.

NT Marine supplies marine fuels and lubricants at a number of ports in Estonia. It operates two barges at the port of Tallinn, one of which is owned, the other chartered. The company is BP's official partner in Estonia, providing BP lubricants to customers calling at Estonian ports.

In Latvia, NT Marine has been supplying a range of products by truck to various ports including Ventspils, Riga, Liepaja, Mersrags, Salacgriva and Skulte.

NT Marine also acts as a physical supplier in St Petersburg and in the nearby port of Kronshtadt. The company sources its products directly from the refineries and is able to supply a full range of straight-run products. It also has an office in St Petersburg to coordinate its physical operations.
