Bunker Index (BIX)

Description:
The Bunker Index (BIX) is the Average Global Bunker Price (AGBP) for all individual port prices published on the Bunker Index website. The Bunker Index (BIX) is calculated by adding each individual daily port assessment price and dividing by the number of prices.

Ports:

Fuel Grades:
The Bunker Index (BIX) is calculated using prices for the following fuel grades:
-ISO 8217:2005(E) RMG 380 - max. 4.5% sulphur
(including 380-centistoke (cst) low sulphur - max. 1.5% & 1.0% sulphur)

-ISO 8217:2005(E) RME 180 - max. 4.5% sulphur
-ISO 8217:2005(E) RMF 180 - max. 4.5% sulphur
(including 180-centistoke (cst) low sulphur - max. 1.5% & 1.0% sulphur)

-ISO 8217:2005(E) DMB (max. 2% sulphur)
-ISO 8217:2005(E) DMA (max. 1.5% sulphur)
(including marine gasoil (MGO) low sulphur - max 0.1% sulphur)

Delivery Size:
Individual 380-cst and 180-cst port prices (high and low sulphur) are calculated based on an average delivery size of 500 metric tonnes. Distillate port prices (MDO and MGO - standard and low sulphur) are based on a delivery size of 75 metric tonnes.
