Middle distillates: Largest percentage rise in 18 months


In unit terms, middle distillate stocks rise the most since July 2011.



Singapore's onshore stockpiles of middle distillates increased the most in 18 months during the seven days up to Wednesday, November 7, according to data released by International Enterprise (IE) Singapore.

Stocks of middle distillates, a category which includes products such as gasoil, or diesel, and kerosene, rose by 2 million barrels, or 21.5 percent, to 11.3 million barrels, up from 9.3 million barrels during the previous week.

It is the largest percentage increase since the week ended May 4, 2011, when stocks jumped 2.7 million barrels, or 28.4 percent, to 12.2 million barrels. In terms of units it is the largest rise since the week ended July 6, 2011, when inventories skyrocketed 2.301 million barrels, or 16.7 percent, to 16.072 million barrels.

It is also the highest stock level since the week ended February 22, 2012, when levels rose by 681,000 barrels to 11.473 million barrels.
