World Fuel Services declares cash dividend


Quarterly cash dividend follows 33.6 percent rise in second quarter net income.



Leading marine, aviation and land fuel specialist World Fuel Services Corporation (WFS) has announced today that its board of directors has declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.0375 per share payable on October 6, 2010 to shareholders of record on September 17, 2010.

Last month WFS posted a US$9.3 million, or 33.6 percent, rise in net income during the second quarter of 2010 compared to the corresponding period last year.

Second quarter net income was $37.0 million, or $0.61, per share compared to $27.7 million, or $0.46 per share in the second quarter of 2009.

Non-GAAP net income for the second quarter, which excludes share-based compensation and amortization of acquired intangible assets, was $40.2 million, or $0.66 per share compared to $30.7 million, or $0.51 per share in the second quarter of 2009.

The company's marine segment generated a gross profit of $43.2 million, representing an increase of $3.8 million, or 10 percent sequentially, and $2.9 million, or 7 percent, from last year's results.

In March and June 2010, WFS also declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.0375 per share
