Anchorage service launched in Ceuta

Bunker firm says it has launched a barge service at Ceuta anchorage.

Oil Marketing & Trading International has announced today that it has launched a bunker supply service at the port of Ceuta.

Speaking to Bunker Index, Managing Director George Gaviotis said that the new bunker operation formed part of a cooperation agreement with Vilma Oil, whereby Vilma Oil would deliver fuel to customers within the port and Oil Marketing & Trading International would supply at the anchorage.

Spanish supplier Vilma Oil launched its barge service in Ceuta at the start of this year in order to complement its existing ex-pipe service.

Vilma Oil has been using the time-chartered vessel Sea Dweller since January to carry out bunker deliveries by barge in addition to the ex-pipe supply operations it has been operating from Ceuta's Levante wharf over the last two years.

Commenting on the barge service in January, Vilma Oil said “We have worked very closely with the Port Authorities, the Terminal owners and our clients to provide a ‘secure quality service’ at Ceuta. We are proud to further extend our service to other shipping segments calling at the port´s anchorage area, as part of our commitment to continuous growth & service improvement at this strategic location in the Strait of Gibraltar.”

Speaking to Bunker Index today, Gaviotis said Oil Marketing would now be using the Sea Dweller to carry out bunker deliveries at the anchorage. The 3,2430 dwt vessel is said to have a total storage capacity of 3,200 tonnes.

Oil Marketing said it is able to supply RMG380 & RME180 high and low sulphur grades, plus DMA 0.1% sulphur.

Enquiries will be handled by the company's offices in Dubai and Athens.
