After almost 14 years at the company, Gust Spaepen, the current Managing Director of Oiltanking GmbH, has decided to leave the company for private reasons. Rutger van Thiel [pictured] has been appointed as his successor.

At the end of 2004, Spaepen assumed the position as Oiltanking GmbH’s Managing Director. Rutger van Thiel, the present Managing Director of Oiltanking Asia-Pacific, has worked in global chemicals, oil and gas logistics for more than 20 years and has extensive knowledge in the fields of management, sales and business development.

Since 2000, van Thiel has held several leading positions with Oiltanking. In his capacity as Managing Director of Oiltanking Asia-Pacific he successfully expanded the company’s business in Southeast Asia since 2004, making Singapore one of the largest profit centres within the Oiltanking Group.
