New barge for Colombian supplier


Bunker barge will be positioned in the coal-exporting port of Santa Marta.



Colombian bunker supplier CI International Fuels Ltda. has announced that it has taken delivery of a new bunker barge.

The 2,450-tonne Intergod VII will be positioned at the north Colombian port of Santa Marta.

Santa Marta is one of Colombia's leading maritime locations and the only port on the Atlantic Coast where railways enter port facilities, thus offering the opportunity for direct loading and unloading.

Santa Marta is also a key location for the export of coal. Last month global energy trader Vitol was reported to have signed a four-year deal to purchase export capacity at Santa Marta, which is operated by Carbosan Ltda. The loading capacity for the coal terminal is currently estimated at 3 million tonnes per year.

News of the new CI International Fuels barge follows the company's recent announcement that it has opened a new office in Miami, United States.
