BP remains top supplier in Singapore


Top 20 bunker suppliers at the world's leading port are revealed.

BP Singapore Pte Ltd. has been named the port of Singapore's leading bunker supplier by volume in 2009, according to data released by the Maritime and Port Authority (MPA).

In a list of the 20 top bunker suppliers at the world's largest bunker port last year, BP Singapore retained the position of leading supplier for the seventh year in a row.

The leading five supply companies from 2008 continued to be the five leading bunker firms last year with SK Energy International Pte. Ltd. rising two positions to third place and Global Energy Trading Pte. Ltd. and Shell Eastern Trading Pte Ltd. both falling one place to fourth and fifth respectively.

Companies to rise up the list were Sentek Marine & Trading Pte. Ltd. and Aegean Bunkering (S) Pte. Ltd., which both improved their positions in the Top 10 compared to last year.

Chemoil International Pte. Ltd. rose ten places from nineteenth to ninth to enter the Top 10 for the first time.

New entrants into the Top 20 were Seven Seas Oil Trading Pte. Ltd., Transocean Oil Pte. Ltd., Glencore Singapore Pte. Ltd. and Toyota Tsusho Petroleum (S) Pte. Ltd.

Meanwhile, Consort Bunkers Pte. Ltd., Titan Bunkering Pte. Ltd., Bunker House Petroleum Pte. Ltd. and Gas Trade (S) Pte. Ltd. failed to make last year's list.

Bunker sales in Singapore reached a new record of 36.5 million tonnes in 2009, according to data released by the MPA. The figure surpassed the previous year's record of 34.9 million tonnes by 4.2 percent in 2008.
