Matrix Bharat begins bunker operations in Mumbai


Supplier starts offering 380-centistoke to clients at west coast Indian port.

Matrix Bharat Marine Services Pte Ltd. has announced that it has commenced supply operations in Mumbai this week.

The company says it will commence by offering 380-centistoke (cst) grade marine fuel to clients at the west coast Indian port.

Marine fuel prices will be released on a daily basis, said the joint venture between India's Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL) and Matrix Marine Fuels, a unit of Germany's Mabanaft.

"Declaring a daily price and giving our customers comfortable credit terms along with the co-operation of our joint venture partners should open up the bunker market in Mumbai," the company said in a statement.

Matrix Bharat currently offers marine fuel at the port of Singapore ex-pipe at Oiltanking and at Singapore anchorage, and is also understood to be looking to offer bunkers at other Indian ports, including Kandla and Kochi.
