CEPSA launches new barge in Balboa


Supplier increases its capacity by over 2,500 tonnes with launch of new delivery barge.

CEPSA Panama has announced the launch of a new bunker barge at the Pacific Coast port of Balboa, Panama.

The barge, named Panabunker I, strengthens CEPSA's presence in Balboa, adding to the company's existing barge, the 1979-built Panamabunker X [pictured].

Commenting on the news, CEPSA said "In order to gain flexibility, better service and time-saving for customers, these two barges will service CEPSA Panama exclusively."

The Panabunker I has a capacity of 2,035 metric tonnes of fuel oil and 508 metric tonnes of marine gasoil (MGO)/marine diesel oil (MDO), adding to the Panamabunker X's 4,430 metric tonne capacity, which includes 3260 metric tonnes of fuel oil and 1170 metric tonnes of MDO.

With the launch of Panamabunker I, CEPSA says its total barge supply capacity at the port of Balboa is now almost 7,000 metric tonnes.

"With this new addition, CEPSA Panama reinforces its commitment towards reliability, quality, versatility and timely responsiveness, thereby guaranteeing the delivery of a premium customer service," CEPSA said.
