Evergreen Line revises bunker surcharge


Shipping firm announces new Emergency Bunker Surcharge (EBS) on trades from Asia to Europe.

Shipping firm Evergreen Line has announced that it has revised its Emergency Bunker Surcharge (EBS) on trades from the Far East and Indian Sub-Continent to Europe and the Mediterranean.

In a statement, the company said the decision to revise its rates was "in order to reflect cost of bunker consumption based on the cargo volume to continue offering services with good qualities to all our clients."

Please find details of the new rates below, which will be effective from October 1st 2009.

Service Scope I : Far East (including Japan) to Europe and Mediterranean Westbound Trades
Effective Date: October 01 2009 (On-Board date)
Rate: USD 188/Teu

Service Scope II : Indian Sub-Continent to Europe and Mediterranean Westbound Trades
Effective Date: October 01 2009 (On-Board date)
Rate: USD 57/Teu

Evergreen added that the EBS would apply to all cargoes and commodities, including reefers and special equipment.
