Port of Fujairah awards terminal contract

Topaz subsidiary wins contract for the construction of facilities at Oil Terminal 2.

The Port of Fujairah has awarded a contract to develop top side facilities at Oil Terminal 2 to Topaz Energy and Marine subsidiary Nico International.

The project includes construction of facilities for Oil Terminal 2 on a lumpsum turnkey, EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) basis.

Topaz’s scope of work includes the design, supply, fabrication, installation, testing and pre-commissioning of four berths.

Commenting on the news, B.S. Motwani, deputy general manager of Topaz’s onshore fabrication business said "Since 1981, Topaz has been actively involved in the development of the Port of Fujairah. Our long-term strategy in Fujairah is closely linked with our strong partnerships with the Port of Fujairah and the Emirate as a whole. Our significant investments over the years have paid dividends and this contract signing is the latest in a string of contract awards."

Nico International is a unit of the engineering division at Topaz Energy and Marine Ltd, the Dubai-based marine offshore and engineering company owned by Renaissance Services.
