UK firm announces August BAF


Bunker Adjustment Factor for Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands to change from next month.



UK-headquartered Swire Shipping has announced that the company's Bunker Adjustment Factor (BAF) for all Southbound cargo from South East Asia and North Asia to Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands are to be revised from next month.

The new BAF charges will be as follows:

US$ 420 / 20ft
US$ 840 / 40ft
US$ 23 / RT (for Breakbulk and LCL cargoes)

The new BAF charges will be implemented on the following voyages in August 2009:

North Asia Service :
- MV Cape North V1509S ETA Hong Kong 3rd August 2009

South East Asia Service :
- MV Tasman Campaigner V140925S ETA Sri Racha 6th August 2009
- MV Pacific Discoverer V17S ETA Map Ta Phut 4th August 2009

The company said it will review the BAF on these trade lanes on a monthly basis and will reduce or increase its BAF accordingly.
