Russia: Fuel oil exports rise in June


Latest data reveals 17.9 percent year-on-year increase in fuel oil exports.



Russia's exports of fuel oil rose in June compared with the previous month, according to preliminary data released by the Energy Ministry.

Last month fuel oil exports increased to 145,200 metric tonnes per day, up by 2.1 percent compared to May.

The figure was also 22,000 tonnes, or 17.9 percent, higher than in June 2008 when fuel oil exports stood at 123,100 tonnes per day.

Energy Ministry data also showed that domestic supplies of fuel oil declined by 13.7 percent last month compared with May, reaching 524,000 tonnes. Significantly, the figure was also 48.6 percent lower than during the same month in 2008.

Meanwhile, gas oil exports in June reached 107,900 tonnes per day, up 8.3 percent versus May, and 3.1 percent year-on-year.

Local supplies of gas oil increased by 4.3 percent compared with May, but remained 15.2 percent lower than in June 2008.
