CMA CGM has announced the implementation of what it describes as "Emergency Bunker Recovery Measures" following the recent increase in marine fuel prices.

The boxship operator said the measures were being introduced "due to the significant increase in bunker prices since the beginning of the year and to keep ensuring the highest quality of service to its customers".

CMA CGM's plan is to recover the bunker costs via bunker-related surcharges which will be applied to all cargo on all worldwide trades.

The fees will be:

Dry: USD 55/TEU
Reefer: USD 85/TEU

Dry: EUR 45/TEU
Reefer: EUR 70/TEU

The implementation date will be June 1 (date of loading) for non-FMC trades and July 1 (date of loading) for Taiwan and FMC trades.
