Events announced for Singapore Maritime Week

Oil Pollution Conference included in list of events for 2009.

Singapore Maritime Week (SMW) will take centre stage once more in 2009, when the 4th edition is held from Aptil 20th to 24th.

For the first time, Sea Asia 2009 will be a part of SMW 2009, with the spotlight on the Asian Voice projected by influential senior figures of the industry as the conference and exhibition brings in a large gathering of maritime leaders, professionals and brands. More information on the event can be found at www.sea-asia.com.

Other events to look forward to include the 3rd Singapore Maritime Lecture, the International Chemical and Oil Pollution Conference (ICOPCE) 2009, and the Singapore International Maritime Awards (IMA) Gala Dinner.

As the leading maritime event in Singapore driven by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), SMW is a gathering of the international maritime community in Singapore for a week of international conferences, dialogues, exhibitions and social events in celebration of all things maritime.

The range of activities and events organised by the MPA, industry and research and education institutions, as well as the cosmopolitan atmosphere and profile of participants, reflect the vibrancy and diversity of Singapore as a major international maritime centre.

SMW has grown in size and significance since the inaugural event in 2006, attracting more participants and event organisers from around the world each year.

Participants can experience something new every year, as activities are added to the array of events, and eminent speakers share their insights and participate in dialogues on topical maritime issues.

This dynamism and the good range of issues discussed during SMW are major draws for maritime decision-makers, as are the many business networking platforms.
