World Fuel Services starts supplying at Nederland Terminal, Texas

Company selling 380 cSt and 0.1% MGO as exclusive supplier at the Sunoco Logistics facility.

World Fuel Services (WFS) has confirmed that its exclusive agreement to supply marine fuel at the Sunoco Logistics Nederland Terminal in Texas, announced in January, is now fully operational with effect from March 2017.

The exclusive agreement means that WFS can now supply RMG-specification 380 centistoke (cSt) intermediate fuel oil (IFO) and low-sulphur marine gas oil (MGO) with a maximum sulphur content of 0.1 percent. Both products are to be made available ex-pipe and it will also be possible to supply marine fuel to vessels while the loading and discharging of cargoes takes place, WFS has confirmed.

Located in the 'Golden Triangle' area of Southeast Texas comprising Beaumont, Port Arthur, and Orange, the Nederland terminal provides storage and distribution services to refiners and other transporters of crude oil and natural gas liquids (NGLs). The terminalling services operate with an aggregate storage capacity of approximately 26 million barrels of crude oil and 1 million barrels of natural gas liquids (NGLs).

Commenting on the news, Joe Gowen SVP, Global Marine Supply, World Fuel Services, remarked: "World Fuel Services is excited to work with Sunoco Logistics to offer this innovative fueling solution to the marine industry."
