Azerbaijan: Fuel oil export volumes announced


State oil company reveals export figures for October and year so far.



The Department of Marketing and Economic Operations of State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) has announced that it has exported 58,141 metric tonnes of fuel oil during the month of October 2008.

During the same period the company also exported 23,312 tons of aviation fuel, 33,850 tons of gasoline, 228,439 tons of diesel.

Within the first ten months of 2008, SOCAR has so far exported 440,789 metric tonnes of fuel oil, the company told AzerTAC, the state information agency of Azerbaijan. It also exported 310,613 tons of gasoline, 1,127,259 tons of diesel and 189,141 tons of aviation fuel.

SOCAR said the average price of oil products per metric tonne in October were as follows: $405,95 (1% sulfur-bearing fuel), $627,09 (gasoline), $755,49 (aviation fuel), $688,03 (diesel).

Total exports of oil between January and October 2008 were said to be 17,915,975.5 tonnes, with 494,070 tonnes being exported last month.

For the last ten months, 17,292,190.3 tonnes were exported via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline, 1,220,800.4 tonnes via the Baku-Novorossiysk (northern route) pipeline, 326,030 tonnes via the Baku-Batumi railway and 79,954.8 tones via the Baku-Supsa oil pipeline.

In October it exported 223,916.2 tonnes via BTC, 273,152.8 tonnes via Baku-Novorossiysk, and nothing via Baku-Batumi and Baku-Supsa.

For comparison purposes, last year the BTC pipeline exported 6.534 million tons of SOCAR oil and 21.75 million tonnes of AIOC (Azerbaijan International Operating Company) oil; the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline exported 1.228 million tonnes of SOCAR oil and 999,983 tonnes of AIOC oil; the Baku-Batumi route sold 221,258 tonnes of SOCAR oil and 4.4 million tonnes of AIOC oil; and 49,174 tonnes of AIOC oil was exported via the Baku-Supsa pipeline in 2007.
