Fuel suppliers unite in Northern Ireland

Bunker supplier joins forces with leading oil companies to form a single entity.

Bunker supplier and heating oil specialist Emo Oil has joined forces with three other leading oil companies in Northern Ireland to form a single entity.

From October 1st, Cawoods Oil, Emo Oil, Fuel Services and Kane Fuels have united under the single name Emo.

DCC Energy Ltd, owner of Emo, had previously operated all four brands independently. The company is the leading oil and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) sales, marketing and distribution business in Britain and Ireland, serving customers in the domestic, commercial, industrial and agricultural sectors.

Emo will now employ 120 members of staff and serve approximately 21,000 customers, operating from its head office in Belfast. It will also utilize former Fuel Services depots in Coleraine and Newcastle, and Kane Fuels depots in Carrickfergus.

The company is Northern Ireland’s only independent oil importer and distributor, importing oil products into its own terminal at Airport Road West in Sydenham, East Belfast.

As a bunker supplier in Northern Ireland, Emo will be able to provide bunkering services in the ports of Belfast, Larne, Londonderry and Warrenpoint. The locations were also delivery points for Emo Oil Ltd.
