OOCL joins Climate Change Business Forum

Shipping firm joins intiative to promote best practice in the reduction of emissions.

Shipping and logistics company Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) has announced that it has recently joined the Hong Kong-based Climate Change Business Forum (CCBF) as a Gold Member, as part of the company’s ongoing commitment to environmental care.

Membership fees will be channelled into funding for research on emissions reductions and environmental protection. In addition, OOCL will join other CCBF members to actively participate in seminars and conferences on environmental topics. CCBF members include 18 Hong Kong-based companies from the power, transport, property, finance and manufacturing sectors.

The CCBF is an initiative of the Business Environment Council (BEC) providing a unique leadership platform where Hong Kong business leaders discuss the impacts of climate change and the policies and regulations that will address it.

As a priority, the CCBF will highlight and promote best practice in greenhouse gas emission reduction. This includes improving accountability, integrating climate change into management policies and setting targets for reduced emissions. Members are also encouraged to be the leaders of their respective industries in caring for the environment.

Please visit www.climatechangebusinessforum.com for more information about the CCBF.
