Cockett appoints trader in India


Ravi Prakash is the third person to join Cockett's new trading operation in Mumbai.



Cockett Marine Oil has appointed Ravi Prakash [pictured] as a bunker trader in Mumbai, India.

Prakash is an experienced trader who has been involved in the marine fuel industry since 2010. Prior to joining Cockett, he was Manager - Sales and Marketing at Geostan Marine India Pvt Ltd in Mumbai between January and August 2015. Before that, he was Deputy Marketing Manager at Chemoil Adani India Pvt Ltd between June 2010 and December 2014.

Prakash is the third person to be employed by Cockett in Mumbai. He joins Nikharv Shah, who is heading up the new operation as Head of Marketing & Supply - Indian Region, and bunker trader Nemish Jose.

Cockett's new bunker trading operation in India was launched in June 2015, with Shah being appointed in the same month. Currently, customers are being invoiced under the UAE company name Cockett Marine Oil DMCC, Prakash told Bunker Index today.
