Fuel oil stocks fall to 19-week low

Singapore records longest consecutive streak of inventory declines since April 2009.

Singapore's onshore stocks of residues fell to their lowest level in nineteen weeks during the seven days up to Wednesday, January 9, according to data released by International Enterprise (IE) Singapore - an agency operating under the Ministry of Trade and Industry.

Stockpiles of residues, a category which includes fuel oil and low-sulphur waxy residue and excludes bitumen, decreased by approximately 1 million barrels, or 5.3 percent, to 17.8 million barrels, down from 18.8 million barrels the previous week.

It is the lowest inventory level since August 29, when stocks rose by 1.020 million barrels to 17.3 million barrels. It also means that inventories have now decreased for five successive weeks since peaking at 23 million barrels in the seven days to December 5. This represents the longest consecutive streak of declines since April 2009.

Please find below a table of Singapore's recent onshore stocks of residues up to Wednesday, January 9. The volume data provided is in millions of barrels.

Inventory levels are collated on a weekly basis for each 7-day period ending on a Wednesday.
